Kanani Wine Project
Project Title: Kanani Wine Label Design
In this project, the main goal is to create the visual identity of the brands flagship wine label “Kanani”. The design should project the top quality standards of the company in a way that is unique to the brand.
Description of Project:
For this project, new and exciting label had to be created for the company’s most important products. The new design most is original and most be about to stand out when placed on a shelf of wines from competitors.
The project was broken up into three main parts: research, drafting and resources gathering, and design.
For the research, I when to the TNCC library and picked up a book called “The atlas of Wines Around the World”. There I was about to learn a little about the wine creation process and about the labels from the various wine producing companies. I also did some searching on the internet on Google Images, Behance, Dribbble, and other websites.
Drafting and resource gathering came in the form of thumbnail sketches to visually test the ideas merit. After that, I hope into Illustrator to further test the thumbnail designs to see what should be kept and what should be disregarded. Even at this stage I don’t keep anything that I do not think won’t work.
The design process came when the I began to have good vibes about the direction of a design. If it looks good and make sense, it’s worth investing time to add extra details. These details will help the product look much better.
Description of Composition:
Unity in this project was probably at the top of the to-do list because of the limited amount of space on the bottle. Everything has to come together and coexist peacefully. To achieve visual balance both text and imagery share the same color pallet. In addition, contrast came in the form of light colors on a dark background or dark text on a light background. It also was done by used different sizes in a font family.
